Hand-make your own folding fan
Rongchang folding fan is one of China’s “Three Great Famous Fans,” alongside Suzhou and Hangzhou fans, with a history dating back to the Song Dynasty. Its making involves 16 stages and 145 handcrafted steps—in this workshop, you’ll learn basic techniques and create your own elegant fan, a timeless keepsake that captures centuries of artistry in every fold.

15:30 – Hands-on folding fan making: fan bone shaping, mounting & fan surface decorating (approx. 1 hr 50 min)

Notes
Preparation: No special preparation needed. All materials (bamboo bones, paper/silk fan surfaces, paints, tools) are provided on site.
Your finished folding fan can be taken home for personal use or as a handmade gift.
